For this project I was asked to create a piece of furniture that is inspired by a natural construction. I chose an iceberg as the inspiration for my project. The idea developed of creating a coffee table where the iceberg forms the structure of the table and supports the table top which visualizes the waterline.

Looking at the iceberg at Planeau bay in Antarctica I could recognize different geometrical shapes on the surface and translated this into the design. The table consists of three geometrically shaped parts in which two form the legs and one forms the table top. All parts are made from glass where the two legs slice through the table top like the iceberg cuts through the waterline.
